Building your business with Precision Equipment

Workshop Equipment

If you’re running a tyre shop, you’ll likely know all you need to know about Precision Equipment, but you may not, so best you keep reading.

If you are a general workshop, you might have heard of Precision Equipment, but you might not use the Rotary and Summit specialist equipment provider as your go-to supplier. Precision Equipment does have some cool stuff though, so best you keep reading.

If you are a franchised workshop, you might know Precision Equipment by virtue of the branding of the vehicles which Precision’s fit out teams arrived in to organise your workshop with various pieces of equipment, and if that’s all you know about Precision Equipment, friend, you’ve got to keep reading!

Bear in mind Precision Equipment is an equipment supplier to specialist workshops where reliability of the tools is a mission critical consideration.

So, if you are a general repair shop looking to expand your operations into automotive repair services to enhance your service offering and keeping your business in your shop – as opposed to outsourcing – keep reading: here’s what Precision Equipment has to offer:

First up, the XA12 – a surprisingly versatile piece of essential workshop equipment which appears to be quite humble.

The XA12 lifts 5,440kg up to 1.83m, which means John ‘Stretch’ Smith – your 6ft mechanic you can’t find overalls to fit – can quite comfortably work under that Silverado super ute (oh, more and more of those are selling these days so Ford and Toyota will soon have theirs in country as well).

A drive on hoist, the XA12 is space efficient as well as capable. You can specify a surface or recessed fit and there’s no requirement for bulky posts or cross beams.

‘Drop and chock’ ramps allow access to the long length runways with their integrated slip plates with auto locking steer function and to demonstrate the versatility of the XA12, it comes standard with two adjustable alignment lifters.

This brings us neatly to the Rotary brand wheel alignment machines and alignments are one of the fastest ways to grow your business’ bottom line.

“Yes, but my mechanics can make more under bonnets than under axles.”

Maybe, but ‘under axle’ money can be pretty good. Precision Equipment’s National Business Manager, Chris Ratcliffe, can better explain the ROI that comes with an XA12.

“It’s more than just a great lift unit,” says Chris. “it’s the stepping-stone to increasing your workshop’s potential, and it can expand your service menu very quickly and efficiently without disrupting your day-to-day operations.”

It doesn’t stop at just the XA12, however. Consider that Precision Equipment also supplies the 1080 and the 1090 Rotary wheel alignment machines, which are self-teaching. Easy upskilling.

Either alignment system unit will add value to your XA12. They’re both wireless and each takes up about as much space as a 40-gallon drum.

You can put them anywhere in the workshop and through the wonders of Bluetooth, have all the data you need to tweak toes or change cambers.

Both machines come with nice big visible displays which can mirror the data onto a tablet your tech can have right next to them while he/she is standing at the rear of the vehicle.

“Being able to offer wheel alignments when it was previously a service you had to outsource to another specialist, inconveniencing you, the specialist and your customer, does give your workshop a big drawcard for your existing customers and encouraging new ones,” says Chris, “and going just that one more step can really set your shop apart.”

Chris is referring to tyre changer and wheel balancers, the two items completing the set when it comes to wheelwork in your workshop.

“The R643 tyre changing machine is the number one choice for those workshops who need efficient, effective and easy to use equipment,” says Chris. “It can handle wheel assemblies up to 26 inches and makes changing low profile tyres a breeze.”

The finishing touch is a wheel balancer, and Rotary’s R355 is almost an industry standard.

Clear display, laser weight placement indication, cycle time measured in seconds, electronic weight accuracy to within 1 gram + or – and the ability to balance up to 43-inch wheel and tyre assemblies, the R355 is intuitive and ready for any tech to take it for a spin.

“At Precision Equipment,” says Chris, “we know what works in a workshop to ensure your business is doing the business for you. Having Precision Equipment at your shop is one of the best ways to ensure business success.”
