Precision Equipment for tyre servicing

Workshop Equipment

Precision Equipment is riding the crest of the sea-change in the automotive service and repair industries, and tyre outlets. For shops wanting to maximise their revenue streams, Precision Equipment has just what’s needed…

Rotary R1080 and R1090 Wheel Aligners and their matching Rotary four-post hoists and wheel alignment scissor lifts are being fitted throughout many OEM dealerships across the country and not without good reason.

These are truly versatile offerings from Rotary which integrate intelligence into their design as much as they do reliability – and Rotary is renowned for its reliability.

Not only are the Rotary wheel aligners intelligent in their features; they’re intelligent in design as well. For service and repair centres where space is a challenge, the R1080/1090 Aligners are the answer to improved efficiency.

Designed with space economy in mind, both units are tower-free, which frees up an astonishing two to three metres of workshop floor space; Jason McCabe of Precision Equipment explains:
“A traditional Wheel Aligner has always had its tower (mast) chewing up floorspace. In purpose-built facilities workshop design allows for a 4.5 metre lift with the required space needed for a fixed tower. Now with no obstruction in front, Workshop owners and operators can put longer platform length hoists in to accommodate large motorhomes, etc.”

What Rotary has done is to eliminate the tower completely
The mobile workstation connects via Bluetooth to deliver all the information the technician needs.

The station can be positioned anywhere around the hoist instead of being right at the front of the vehicle and frequently obstructed by cross beams.

The cameras are battery powered with a spare set charging while one set is being used – eight hours of continuous use per set. Cameras have battery power level indicators.

For even more versatility, the R1090 Wheel Aligner also has a tablet which reads off the mobile station and can be attached magnetically to the underbody of the vehicle. This means the operator always has the wheel alignment readings in their sight.

The Rotary R1080 andR1090 target heads are clamped on by grabbing the tyre not the rim, and thus minimises damage potential. “This system,” adds Jason, “also allows you to bypass roll-backs saving you even more time.”

In less than two minutes you can get a printable 3D drawing of the parameters in millimetres right around the car including diagonal – this is a fantastic feature for your collision repair customers.

Rotary’s R1090 is all about maximising efficiency, which is why it is designed with clear digital displays providing step-by-step instructions and visual instructions on where and how to make the required adjustments.

This is followed up with a printable, customer-friendly report which clearly shows the vehicle, pre and post adjustment, in plain English.

“More and more workshops are looking to extend their offerings beyond the traditional, integrating what had previously been outsourced into the in-house service menu.

“Where service typically meant under-bonnet work, fluids, filters and so on, smart shops are looking at underbody servicing too,” explains Jason “and they are opting for Rotary as their equipment brand of choice.”

And yet all this technology, versatility, accuracy and revenue increase potential does not come at an exorbitant price. How? By taking away the extra component cost of the tower.

“In fact, at a time when everything seems to be increasing in price and margins are becoming tighter, the investment in a Rotary R1080 or R1090 wheel aligner and a Rotary alignment hoist combined is around the same cost as a typical high end tower aligner alone,” explains Jason. This for sure will make your accountant smile.

Significantly more affordable – the R1080/1090 Wheel Aligners will allow for increased work throughput for very little training, installation or capital expenditure – and of course, there is Precision Equipment’s ongoing commitment to ensuring profitability for its customers.

“We have the full range of Rotary workshop equipment,” says Operations Manager for Precision Equipment, William Singleton. “And to that extensive range, Precision Equipment brings its local industry expertise and commitment to its customers to the workshop floor.”
