Precision Equipment -Rotary lift suppliers to the industry

Workshop Equipment

Precision Equipment is sending ripples through the automotive service and repair industry as it
continues to supply Rotary hoists to more and more distributor/importer workshops.

These workshops answer to international parent companies who specify equipment of from trusted and well-researched suppliers and Rotary is one such supplier.
Recognised as one of – if not the – world’s largest hoist manufacturers, Rotary is an intelligent and agile provider, with decentralised plants in the US, Europe and Asia, insulating supply against global crises points and thereby ensuring a robust supply chain.
Rotary has developed its extensive product portfolio over almost 100 years – the company was founded in 1925.
In that time it has improved the design and engineering of its two and four-post hoists, mid-rise and full height scissor lifts, wheel alignment scissor lifts, column lifts for trucks, tyre changers, wheel balancers and wheel aligners, all of which are available through Precision Equipment.
“We have the full range of Rotary workshop equipment,” says Operations Manager for Precision Equipment, William Singleton. “And to that extensive range, Precision Equipment brings its local industry expertise and commitment to its customers to the workshop floor.”
With that in mind, William is keen to point out that workshops looking to increase their efficiency and through-business models who have yet to invest in quality equipment should be looking critically at their workshop’s requirements.
“Today, more than ever, quality servicing equipment with reputations for excellence and recommendations based on working experience from international industry giants – OE manufacturers – should be at the top of a workshop’s agenda for ensuring longevity and efficiency for high use equipment.”
The Rotary two-post hoists tick the boxes for many Kiwi workshops, representing excellent value for money, coming as they do with many innovative features as standard, to ensure flexibility and at the same time, offer optional accessories to enable workshops to offer more comprehensive services.
Some of those standard features include four truck adapters, which can be used for 4WD and SUVs along with light trucks. These complement the round adapters typically suited to cars, which are part and parcel of every two-post hoist.
Additionally, Rotary two-post hoists now come with 4WD adapter extensions which allow for easier lifting of vehicles with longer suspension travel by giving more height to the adapters themselves.
“Despite many vehicles getting heavier with additional battery packs and so forth,” adds William, “the Rotary two-post hoist is still a very good choice, as any of them can lift 4500kg with ease.
“If your customers have vehicles heavier than that, Rotary has 5500kg two-post lifting options to take on motorhomes, camper vans and similarly-sized vehicles.”
And on this last, Rotary two-posts tend to be very useful in confined space workshops, but if you have the space to work on tall vans with roof racks or ladder fit-outs; or recreational 4WDs, Precision Equipment can supply various post height options to ensure safe and effective vehicle lifting.
Rotary two-post hoists are available with either 240-volt single phase or 415-volt 3 phase motors and because Precision Equipment is a supplier with a national footprint, a technical service installer can set up and maintain your Rotary two-post hoist anywhere in the country.
The Rotary two-post hoists can also be colour-matched to your other Precision Equipment in your workshop with grey, blue, red and now black, colour choices.
In terms of the innovative options for the Rotary two-post hoists, Precision Equipment can supply Trio Arms; the extending load bearers which allow technicians to easily and more precisely, locate and engage vehicle loading points.
As well, Rotary two-post hoists can be fitted with the Spotline laser light which allows a technician to line up a vehicle’s centreline precisely in the midpoint between the posts to allow greater precision in positioning the vehicle prior to lifting it and saving ‘back and fill’ manoeuvres which are time consuming and potentially hazardous.
Another safety feature is the Locklight. This simple but effective option is a light which activates once a vehicle has been raised to a safe, locked height.  Ideal for workshops that are Health and Safety conscious. This means technicians can work safely under a vehicle whose weight is secured on the hoist’s lock position without putting undue strain on the lift’s hydraulics.
“And Rotary’s most recent advancement,” adds William, “is the Shockwave hoist. These are specified by Tesla workshops worldwide and, like the Tesla cars serviced on them, have a dual 12-volt battery system which provides up to 8 hours of lifting and provides faster movement. In the case of the hoists, that’s vertically.”  Many other New Zealand workshops have also embraced this technology.
