Precision Equipment NZ – making its mark and growing

Workshop Equipment

The Precision Equipment name is – if the company’s rapid growth is any indication – well known in the workshop supply industry here.

Less than a year ago, Precision Equipment NZ stepped into the local workshop supply arena and since then its footprint has grown markedly.

Precision Equipment didn’t just materialise out of the blue, it is a division of Bapcor, which cemented itself as a primary distributor of automotive repair and service equipment for Australia and New Zealand.

For its part, Bapcor has established Precision Equipment NZ as a premier distribution channel, charged with supplying quality hoists and wheel service equipment to discerning customers including OEM workshops and high-profile branded tyre specialists.

That was the plan, but it seems New Zealand workshops in general, have an eye for what’s going to best help their business, and that includes sourcing equipment from a supplier which is clearly establishing itself as a formidable force in its sector.

How has Precision Equipment managed this reputation in such a short space of time? The answer is many-fold.

It starts of course, with understanding the market and to that end, Precision Equipment NZ is headed up by business manager William Singleton, who has an extensive workshop supply history.

William has appointed a team of specialist sales team members to ensure Precision Equipment NZ’s national footprint is well serviced.

With a significant investment from Bapcor NZ, Precision Equipment NZ currently carries over $1.5 million dollars’ worth of quality, vehicle servicing stock from its main centre in Auckland, backed up with its sales specialists in Auckland, Palmerston North and Christchurch.

This allows the newly formed company to ensure rapid delivery and installation on a nationwide basis, another element of Precision Equipment NZ’s success.

Then of course, there is the equipment itself – and to this end, Precision Equipment’s primary suppliers include Rotary and Summit – two brands recognised for quality, reliability and excellent value for money.

Rotary is a global brand and is recognised as the world’s largest supplier of hoists and has been self-represented here in the past.

The appointment of Precision Equipment NZ to sole distributor is in recognition of the company’s commitment to providing excellence in regards servicing its – and Rotary’s – customers.

As to the Summit product line-up, this is Precision Equipment NZ’s own brand and provides a quality, cost effective alternative to the premium Rotary equipment.

With the brand locally designed for New Zealand and Australian conditions, William and his team confidently market Summit as complementary to the Rotary product at a lower price point.

Between the two brands, Precision Equipment NZ offers an extensive product catalogue, which – while it is expanding all the time in response to customer demand with new products being added regularly – currently features two and four-post hoists, scissor lifts and a comprehensive array of tyre changers, wheel balancers and wheel aligners from both the Rotary and Summit brands.

While customers range from independent dealerships and mechanical workshops as well as specialist branded tyre shops including the Bridgestone network to mention but a few, Precision Equipment NZ also supplies the commercial vehicle sector, with Rotary Column lifts sold on an ex-stock basis to workshops needing robust and heavy duty equipment they can rely on.

And while this demonstrates the ability to store and supply product, there is much more to the already seen, and growing success of Precision Equipment NZ.

“It’s critical,” says William, “that our customers receive great product via immediate dispatch, which they do, but it is equally important that they can benefit from our consultative and product knowledge, technical advice, installation and training.

“We offer all of this, along with thorough backup and popular spare parts availability, competitive finance rates and the ability to offer excellent product specials like the ones advertised in this edition. Our association with Bapcor also means we are a newly appointed preferred supplier for the Capricorn Society.”

You will be seeing a lot more of the Precision Equipment NZ name as it grows and develops over the next few months and you, as a customer, can be a part of the company’s ongoing success story.
