UVeye is a new automated vehicle inspection system that is driven by deep learning AI. The company was formed in Israel in 2016 by Amir and Ohad hever. They have since received investment from Toyota Tusho, Volvo, Hyundai and Carmax.
From their website they quote, “UVeye’s deep learning AI platform analyses high-quality, multi-angle images to identify any issues and create objective documentation of the vehicle as it moves from point to point along the automotive lifecycle.”
The UVeye products combine proprietary hardware with powerful computer vision imaging and deep learning anomaly detection. There are modules for body (Atlas), underbody (Helios) and tyres (Artemis). Primary use would be larger dealerships and fleet/rental operators.
Atlas provides 360-degree exterior scan in near real time, with the ability to detect sub-millimetre defects including dents, scratches, colour bumps, gaps and flushes.
Helios comes in mobile and stationary versions with multiple angle image capture from five cameras (three in the mobile version), three second image view and 10 second analysis. It can detect amongst other issues underbody damage, exhaust, suspension and brake issues, oil leaks and much more.
Artemis identifies tyre specifications, indicates air pressure and detects wear and tear utilising a two-angle view of sidewall and tread with a several second detection time whilst the car rolls past the system.
They provide fast and accurate inspections with the ability to track vehicle issues between visits enabling predictive maintenance and upsell opportunities.
