One of which is Energotest. Since 1990, Hungarian company Energotest has been developing, and manufacturing, premium equipment for vehicle testing. Their engineering team is highly skilled. Energotest inspection lane equipment provides a complete solution for testing vehicles from motorcycles to heavy trucks to ensure they are compliant with NZ transport regulations. Products include suspension, side-slip, and brake testers, joint-play detectors, roadside mobile testing station equipment, diagnostic software and accessories.

The Energo-SM Decelerometer is a universal acceleration and deceleration measuring instrument. It is suitable for the inspection and evaluation of vehicles, slow vehicles, trailers’ brake systems and retarder with deceleration measurement. The computer software connection ensures evaluation, storage and printout of the data. It can be easily attached to the windshield of the vehicle and charged through the cigarette lighter socket. It is suitable for diagnostic purposes and for periodic technical inspection of vehicles. NZTA has notified the phasing out of the old mechanical decelerometers which is why we have selected the Energo-SM which has been gazetted for use in New Zealand.

Some current reference sites are, state inspection stations in Vienna, Klagenfurt, Graz and Eisenstadt use Energo-SM for PTI. In Germany Liebherr (mobile cranes, wheel loaders, construction vehicles) and Kubota construction machines use Energo-SM for vehicle development and production.
