Iveco Trucks returns

Diesel Industry News

Iveco Trucks Australia recently purchased their New Zealand agency back from New Zealand Trucks Limited, a subsidiary of the Stevenson Engineering Group.
“We see the New Zealand business as a strategic acquisition for Iveco in this region and look forward to seeing more Iveco Trucks on the road,” says managing director Giorgio Gallia.
Now trading as Iveco Trucks New Zealand, the business will retail trucks on the North Island and be responsible for the wholesale of trucks to a dealership in the South Island. All existing parts and service dealership agreements were also transferred to Iveco Trucks New Zealand.
Newly appointed general manager of Iveco Trucks New Zealand, Kevin Smith was previously CEO of Fruehauf Trailers, and has most recently moved from General Manager at Plumbing World to his role with Iveco.
“It is exciting to re-establish an Iveco presence here and I look forward to working with our existing customers as well developing new relationships throughout the country,” says Kevin Smith. “We are part of a powerful company with a respected brand, a large product range of trucks, and a massive commitment to the New Zealand market.”
Internationally Iveco designs, manufactures, and markets a broad range of light, medium and heavy commercial vehicles, off-road trucks, city and intercity buses and coaches as well as special vehicles for applications such as fire fighting, off-road missions, defence and civil protection. Iveco has long recognized the value of the New Zealand market through sponsorship of the All Blacks for the past 3 years.
