Allison shows new gearbox

Diesel Industry News

Allison Transmission showcased its new TC10 transmission and fifth generation electronic controls while also celebrating its centennial at the Brisbane Truck Show in May.

Allison traces its founding back to 1915. The company evolved from working on race cars to becoming a leading manufacturer of both aircraft engines and, beginning in the mid-1940s, automatic transmissions. Today, Allison Transmission is the world’s largest manufacturer of fully automatic commercial-duty transmissions. The company has been delivering reliable, efficient transmissions to Australia for nearly 50 years.

Designed specifically for road tractors, the TC10 has found growing interest in the US and Canada, where fleets have embraced the new 10-speed twin countershaft automatic, which has been delivering fuel economy improvements in real world day-to-day operations.

Allison continues to grow its reputation as the leading supplier for New Zealand and Australian commercial-vehicle markets through new OEM releases. Most recently, four major Japanese OEMs in Australia have recently introduced Allison fully automatic transmissions in a variety of distribution trucks.
