Auckland management consultant, Tony Simpson, has been appointed to lead automotive business George Stock & Company Ltd, better known as Stocks, and help drive it into the future.
Tony has been appointed CEO of the Mt Wellington-based company that was originally founded in 1932 as a manufacturers’ representative.
It still represents manufactured products in New Zealand today, but now focuses on three areas, all aligned to the automotive industry, such as; workshop equipment through its Stocks Equipment division; suspension and cooling products through its Stocks Auto Parts division; and tyre repair consumables through its Stocks Tyre Shop Supplies division.
Tony has been working on a consultancy basis with Stocks in recent times and his knowledge and business expertise saw him shoulder-tapped to take a more hands-on role at the head of the company.
He joins at a booming time for the automotive industry and says there are significant opportunities for George Stock & Company Ltd to grow its various businesses.
He comes from a background in advertising and digital printing, and more recently he has been working as a business management consultant specialising in creating sales and marketing strategies.
