Iveco celebrates at Dakar with top 10 placings

Iveco has once again performed strongly in the gruelling Dakar Rally, with two Iveco Powerstar trucks securing sixth and ninth positions respectively in this year’s event.

The highest placed Iveco was driven by Dutch driver and previous Dakar winner, Hans Stacey, at the wheel of a Powerstar boasting 671kW from its Cursor 13 engine. The Powerstar nameplate has its origins in Australia, with Iveco’s roadgoing trucks of the same name having been developed there.As well as finishing high in the overall truck standings, Iveco trucks also recorded several stage wins, giving its drivers confidence for next year’s race. Participation in the Dakar Rally confirms the reliability of Iveco trucks and the company’s ongoing commitment to product research, development and testing in some of the world’s most inhospitable and competitive environments.Iveco is looking forward to its 2016 Dakar campaign buoyed by this year’s efforts and with eyes firmly focused on an overall podium finish in the truck category.
