Beating cross winds

Beating cross winds

Diesel Industry News
One of the big worries about driving a high side van is the effects of cross winds, and nowhere is this more apparent than when crossing Auckland’s harbour bridge.

However, a new innovation from Mercedes-Benz, offered on the latest Sprinter models, promises to neutralise the effects of strong cross winds, making it always possible to drive safely in windy conditions.
The award-winning Crosswind Assist system is unique to Mercedes-Benz at present, and almost completely offsets the effects of gusts of wind on the vehicle.

It greatly reduces driver stress, because motorists no longer have to steer as much against sudden gusts of wind. Crosswind Assist is based on the standard-fitted Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), and is activated at speeds of 80 km/h and over.
