Bosch opens 1,000th service centre in China

The Dacheng service centre in Changzhou in the Jiangsu province is the 1,000th Bosch car service centre to be opened in China. The state-of-the-art centre was officially opened in a ceremony featuring a traditional lion dance to bring luck.
The very first Bosch service centre based in China was opened in Shanghai in 1926. Since then, the network in China has been extended consistently.
The first Bosch car service centre, replacing those which were known as Bosch Services, commenced operations in 1998. By 2007, more than 500 workshops had adopted the Bosch concept due to the growth of vehicle ownership in China.
The last four years have seen the number of Bosch car service centres in China doubling to 1,000.
The Dacheng service centre in Changzhou is around 200 kilometres north-west of Shanghai.
It offers 5,000 square metres of workshop space with 25 workstations for service, repair and bodywork and more than 20 workstations for vehicle servicing tasks. Some 120 workshop technicians complete service and repair work on all vehicle brands.
Bosch says the reasons behind the ever-growing number of Bosch car service centres around the world are clear. As the complexity of vehicles increases, it poses significant challenges for vehicle workshops. Bosch says with its leading OEM expertise it is able to offer these workshops a very promising future.
The range of services includes automotive electrics, electronics and diesel servicing, as well as general mechanical vehicle repairs, inspections and oil servicing and air-conditioning service.
Now, more than 90 years after the first Bosch service centre was opened in Hamburg, Bosch says it has become one of the world’s largest independent workshop networks with around 15,000 centres in 147 countries.
The centres receive comprehensive support from Bosch, including state-of-the-art testing technology, technical information and both technical and business training.
A standardised external image plus marketing initiatives designed to win and retain customers are also part of the package.
A quality assurance system based on regular audits and unannounced workshop tests also helps to secure the high level of service quality offered by Bosch workshop partners.
Every day, more than 82,000 technicians complete service and repair work on more than 180,000 vehicles in Bosch car service centres across the globe.
