Ed Speak: Winter Blues

Ed Speak

Snow, frost and rain seem to be the focus of the weather recently, it makes it hard to get inspired, or to even get out of bed in the morning, and when keeping warm is a priority can affect work and morale.
This not only affects you and your staff but also your customers, so maybe it is a good time to make sure your reception area and customer lounge/waiting area are warm and clean.
Despite the weather there are many advantages to the season – keen skiers will be heading for the slopes after some large snow dumps recently, which although a bit late were very welcome. We also tend to get quite a few clear (if cold) days with low wind and blue skies, which at least gives an illusion of warmth. Some blossom trees and daffodils are already in flower giving an early preview for spring and a farmer friend just welcomed their first calf of the season to the world this week (late July as I write this).
For many it is also a time when they plan their holidays for the summer break and may be a good time for you to think about some summer promotions you might want to run around preparing cars for holidays or looking over the cooling system.
So, brighten up things can only get better!
