What are ENVIRO+ engine oils?
ENVIRO+ engine oils are a range of Penrite Low and Mid SAPS, full synthetic engine oils developed for modern petrol and  diesel, fuel efficient, low emission engines. They contain lower levels of Sulphated Ash, Phosphorus and Sulphur compared  to standard engine oils and are more compatible with engine after- treatment devices such as catalytic converters and DPFs (Diesel Particulate Filters).

What are the differences between ENVIRO+ engine oils ?
Application type

ENVIRO+ oils are blended to meet specific application types such as – ACEA, API, ILSAC, JASO and OEM Grade  specifications. Some are blended for petrol engined vehicles, others for diesel and some for both petrol & diesel variants.  Some are blended to cover multiple specifications and others for specific applications.

SAE viscosity grades
ENVIRO+ engine oils are blended in the following SAE viscosity ranges – 0W-16, 0W-20, 0W-30, 5W-20, 5W-30, 5W-40 &  10W-40.

OEM and industry approved
Specific ENVIRO+ engine oils are OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) approved for warranty service during and post  the vehicles warranty period. This means that they can be used with confidence for servicing knowing these oils comply and  are endorsed by the OEM to comply with their stringent specification requirements. Some are API (American Petroleum  Institute) licensed.

ENVIRO+ engine oils are approved by some of the worlds leading vehicle manufacturers such as – Volkswagen, Audi,  Skoda, Bentley, Lamborghini, General Motors. Mercedes Benz, Porsche, Renault, Cummins, Volvo, Mack and MAN.

All synthetic
All ENVIRO+ engine oils use synthetic base oils in their formulations to ensure quality and long-lasting protection meeting  long drain service intervals, fuel economy and emission regulation requirements.

Where can they be used?
Can ENVIRO+ Low /Mid SAP oil be used where a normal full SAPS oil is specified?

Yes, in some applications, but this is dependent on the vehicle and the application. Most modern vehicles can comfortably  run on a Low or Mid SAPS oil provided the oil meets the specifications that is being asked for by the manufacturer. Many  manufacturers recommend engine oil specifications for their vehicles that are low or mid SAPS oils to comply with their  warranty requirements. Enviro+ oils meet many of these specifications and are ideal for service requirements for the trade
or end user.

What happens if you use a normal full SAPS oil in an engine requiring a low or mid SAPS oil?
Using a full SAPS oil could cause increased fuel economy, damage to the DPF or catalytic converter/s, inceased service cost  and may void the vehicle warranty. DPFs and Catalysts are extremely expensive to replace which can be avoided by  using the correct products in a vehicle. ENVIRO+ oils are designed to maintain the performance of the vehicles exhaust  catalysts to ensure long life and work with after treatment systems such as SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) and EGR  (Exhaust Gas Recirculation).

My vehicle uses ADBLUE, is this compatible?
Yes, ENVIRO+ engine oils are suitable for use where a vehicle uses ADBLUE or similar after treatment system.

Can all vehicles run on low viscosity engine oils such as 0W-16?
No – These oils are designed for modern fuel-efficient engines and may not be suitable for some engine types. We suggest  checking to find the correct viscosity and specification before use.
