Automechanika parts and accessories

Parts

In the October issue we focussed on the workshop equipment side of Automechanika, in this issue we turn our attention to parts and accessories.

The parts side is a mixed bag – there are a lot of international exhibitors showing their wares, looking for OEMs or distributors, but the big players have extensive displays aimed more at technicians and workshop owners. Some of the big European brands have massive stands – one building was pretty much split between Schaeffler and Continental. Bosch, and ZF also had significant stands as did many other well-known brands. The Schaeffler stand covered key parts of their product range and was set up for technicians with their Rep Experts by each display to demonstrate and discuss repair techniques whilst ZF had a large hospitality and meet and greet area for customers.

Most of the exhibitors have meeting rooms and often café areas to meet and entertain clients and distributors.

EV repair parts were to the fore on many stands and there were a number of companies showing rebuilt parts – often with call outs for more cores to use in the rebuild programme. These covered parts from complete engines down to injectors.
In terms of accessories there were a lot more 4WD related items than at previous shows and a big focus on load carrying, especially receiver or tow bar mounted bike racks, carriers and load boxes.

Here is a selection of things that caught our eye.
