Parts

OEX, has long been regarded as a leader in aftermarket alternators, starter motors and spare parts.

OEX’s strides in innovation and their mission is to challenge the norm, enhance durability, improve performance, and release new, pioneering products to the market.  Now celebrating the addition of over 50 part numbers in their alternator and starter motor range, OEX continues to be one of New Zealand’s and Australia’s brand of choice for automotive specialists.

NAPA Auto Parts Rotating Electrical Merchandise Manager Andrew Little says when products are released to the market, they look at major OE products and take out common faults and frustrations so customers can plug and play. This has resulted in reduced warranties and less wasted time for OEX customers and is part of NAPA’s Know How philosophy in action.

This is evident in OEX’s most recent work with solving a common problem on identifying the correct regulator function for 2003-12 Camry and RAV4’s with similar 2AZ-FE 4 cylinder 2.4L engines. OEX range DXA582 and DXA583 Alternators to cover these applications, but as both units have the same regulator with a single terminal function difference, it is difficult to diagnose whether and S or RLO regulator is required.

The OEX team have now solved this problem with a simple tester (ACX6250). The ACX6250 simply plugs into the harness and after you turn on ignition (without starting the vehicle), the tester will show which regulator function you require If S, use DXA582. If RLO, use DXA583.

It’s not just these two applications though, the ACX6250 unit will work on Lexus, Hiace, Kluger and others with similar issues. When you have a similar S and RLO terminal function on the same application, this tester can diagnose quickly, remove frustration, and wasted time.

OEX’s full range of trusted electrical products are available through NAPA Auto Parts nationally. Additionally, with nationwide warranty assistance if you do encounter an issue, help is not far away. Technical advice is also close at hand with experts that are trade qualified, ready to take your enquiry.
