Kiwi Scott Dixon, already the proud holder of no fewer than five Indycar titles – more than any other active racer – is favourite to add the 2019 title to his trophy cupboard. And you could watch him race at IndyCar Laguna Seca, courtesy of Honda New Zealand Parts.

Scott currently heads the official power rankings, and regularly tops-out at more than 380km/h in his Honda-powered Chip Ganassi Racing IndyCar, so it will be sight to behold.

And you can be there watching by entering the Great Honda IndyCar Roadtrip, just like the winners of the previous competition which saw a group of Kiwi auto repairers flown out to attend the Chinese Formula One Grand Prix in Shanghai in April.

This event saw Max Verstappen emerge as a top contender in F1, in his Honda-powered Red Bull. Max was just off the podium in fourth place, but he showed it was no flash-in-the-pan following a fourth and a third in the previous two races of the season, once more establishing Honda as a major player on the grand prix scene.

The F1 promotion was the latest in Honda New Zealand parts division’s regular scratch and win promotions aimed exclusively at those within the motor trade who buy genuine Honda parts.

The Chinese prize included luxury accommodation, a river cruise, tickets to attend both practice and race day at the Grand Prix, as well as a guided tour and free time in Shanghai.

Phil Cawdron, general manager aftersales at Honda New Zealand, said he had received extremely positive feedback from the participants. John and Sue Hamilton of Amberley Collision repairs, and Michael Collins, of Prima Collision Repairs, Manukau, told him they had enjoyed the trip of a lifetime.

Vince Douglas of Douglas Automotive and Engineering, Rotorua, meanwhile praised Honda for the attention to detail on the trip, while Derek Perkins, of Auckland Panel & Paint Group said Honda was the perfect host.

And his comments were echoed by Carpro Penrose ‘s Lee Burridge.

And so on to the next promotion, which is on now. All you have to do is purchase genuine Honda parts, and you’ll get scratch and win cards which not only entitle you to a tilt at the main prize, one of five double tickets to America and Laguna Seca, but also to a range of other prizes, including Scott Dixon and IndyCar promotional merchandise, Bluetooth speakers, and subway vouchers.

If you’re a big winner you’ll be flown out to San Francisco on September 17 to pick up a luxury Winnebego camper van which you can drive in your own time down the iconic California coastline to Monterey and Leguna Seca.

You’ll also visit the infamous Alcatraz Prison, while other highlights include a baseball game, a tour of San Francisco, as well as a free day to do as you please, returning home on September 24.
