MITO scholarship programme opens

MITO’s 2019 scholarship programme is now open, and they’re looking for people who are eager to explore their potential and advance their careers within the automotive, transport, logistics, extractive and industrial textile fabrication industries. The 2019 programme will provide scholarships with a total value of up to $60,000.

There are six scholarship categories available:

 

  • Kick Start Scholarship
    If you have full-time employment or an offer of full-time employment in one of MITO's industries in 2019 and have not previously been enrolled in a MITO training programme at Level 4 or above, you can Kick Start your career with a MITO scholarship. Up to 25 scholarships are available, paying the first year fees of your study for any MITO New Zealand apprenticeship or traineeship programme at Level 4 or above.
     
  • Kick Start Māori and Pasifika Scholarship
    Those of Māori or Pasifika ethnicity who have full-time employment or an offer of full-time employment in one of MITO's industries in 2019 and have not previously been enrolled in a MITO training programme at Level 4 or above can also Kick Start with a MITO scholarship! Seven scholarships are available, paying the first year fees of your study for any MITO apprenticeship or traineeship programme at Level 4 or above.
     
  • MITO Alumni Scholarship
    People who have completed a qualification at Level 4 or above through MITO and would like to continue studies while you’re working can apply for a scholarship which contributes up to $2,000 towards any programme of study related to your industry (either through MITO or another course provider, including universities).
     
  • Business Skills Scholarship
    If you a current or aspiring manager or supervisor in one of MITO’s industries, you can apply for one of up to 15 Business Skills scholarships which are available. This scholarship will pay the programme fees for the New Zealand Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 4).
     
  • Business Skills Māori and Pasifika Scholarship
    And if you are you a current or aspiring manager or supervisor in one of MITO’s industries and of Māori or Pasifika ethnicity, there are  up to seven Business Skills Māori and Pasifika scholarships available. Each scholarship will pay the programme fees for the New Zealand Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 4).
     

Clyde Cunningham QSM Memorial Scholarship (Hawke’s Bay region)
And specially for those in the Hawkes Bay region, this scholarship is for a MITO automotive graduate and honours a long-standing MITO employee. It will pay for the first year fees for MITO’s New Zealand Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 4).
