Keith Lane killed in a tragic boating accident

TO ALL VALUED CUSTOMERS AND SUPPLIERS OF THE GEARBOX FACTORY, EAST TAMAKI, AUCKLAND.

It is with great regret that I have to inform you that Keith Lane, manager and owner of The Gearbox Factory, has been killed in a tragic boating accident on Saturday 15/2/2020.

He had successfully participated in the Bucklands Beach Yacht Club, single handed round Waiheke Yacht race, on his Farr 1220, and was anchored at the bottom end of Waiheke Island just around from Man O War Bay, however some stage after 10pm on Saturday night has fallen overboard and then found dead at 7am on Sunday morning by a member of the public, washed up on a beach on Waiheke Island.  (Accidental drowning has been pronounced as the cause of death).

His funeral will be held at 10am on Thursday 20 February at Purewa cemetery, 100-102 St Johns Road, Meadowbank.  All welcome.  Donations in lieu of flowers to The Cancer Society thanks.

Business will be carried on as normal by his surviving wife Rosie, supported by a fantastic loyal staff.

Thank you.
