Local pricing has been announced so the wait is over.
The new Ford Fiesta ST arrives in New Zealand from July with an RRP of $34,990.
Developed by Ford Team RS, the European arm of Ford Motor Company’s Global Performance Vehicle group, the new Fiesta ST for New Zealand is powered by a 1.6-litre EcoBoost petrol engine to achieve 0 to 100KM/H in 6.9 seconds and 134kW and 240 Nm of torque (149kW and 290Nm with transient over boost). Top speed for the hot hatch is 220Km/h.
While it’s a significant source of power, Ford EcoBoost technology in the Fiesta ST ensures a combined cycle fuel economy rate of 5.9l/100km and CO2 emissions of 138g/km.
Ford has further refined the Fiesta ST’s renowned global B-car chassis with new steering, suspension, braking components, configuration and tuning. The unique suspension is 15mm lower and features front and rear disc brakes. An enhanced version of Ford’s Torque Vectoring Control system, and a three-mode electronic stability control system contribute to a rewarding and secure driving experience.
The new high-performance Fiesta ST is equipped with Ford’s turbocharged Twin-independent Variable Camshaft Timing EcoBoost engine to achieve faster acceleration and a higher top speed than the 2002 Ford Focus ST170.
The Ford Fiesta ST features a unique new honeycomb mesh trapezoidal grille exterior and dramatic rear diffuser element. The high contrast interior is also equipped with Recaro seats as standard for the first time.
Available as a three-door hatch, 6-speed manual, the Fiesta ST also offers the enthusiast a host of smart and safe features including:

MyKey
With all that power in a hot hatch, lending out what is the fastest yet production Ford Fiesta ST to your teenager, or even your slightly dodgy mate, might not seem like a good prospect. But with the introduction of Ford’s MyKey technology, it’s much less of a worry.
MyKey is a Ford-exclusive technology designed to help parents encourage their teenagers to drive safer and more fuel efficiently, and increase safety-belt use.
Ford’s MyKey feature allows owners to program a key that can limit the vehicle’s top speed and audio volume. MyKey also encourages safety-belt use, provides earlier low-fuel warnings and can be programmed to sound chimes at different speed levels.
