ZF sponsors crane conference
Diesel Industry News

ZF Services Australia has demonstrated its long-term commitment to the local crane industry with sponsorship of the recent Crane Industry Council of Australia’s (CICA) annual conference.

Held in Cairns from September 15-17, the 2016 CICA Conference marked ZF’s third consecutive showing at the event and its second as a conference sponsor.

The centre piece of ZF’s stand was its comprehensive transmission offerings, including the market-leading 12-speed ZF-AS Tronic transmission fitted with optional ZF-Intarder, the wear-free hydrodynamic auxiliary brake.

As a popular OE fitment in heavy commercial vehicle applications, the ZF-AS Tronic transmission is perfectly suited to mobile cranes to move quickly, safely and economically through increased performance.

Also on display was ZF’s genuine commercial vehicle lubricant, Ecofluid M, which has been developed in unison with the AS Tronic transmission to decrease maintenance and operating costs as well as increase performance.

ZF previewed the future of commercial vehicle transmission technology with Shane Trenbath, technical services manager, discussing with delegates ZF’s successor of the AS-Tronic, the revolutionary TraXon automatic transmission platform.

“With several modules for different applications, the TraXon transmission platform will satisfy the most challenging requirements, whether it’s fitted to a mobile crane on a worksite or on the road,” Shane Trenbath said.

“TraXon has been developed to live up to future needs, delivering more performance with less fuel consumption and more application diversity with less customisation effort.”

Products from other ZF brands on display included also Lemförder steering and suspension products.

“Not only does ZF supply transmissions for cranes, but we have available the full service offering.  All of our products come with ZF’s product quality guarantee and are fully supported 24/7 through our Technical Support hotline,” Shane continued.

In addition to workshops and distribution hubs in Sydney and Perth, a technical support team is located in Melbourne and Brisbane, assisted by strategically situated service partners across Australia and New Zealand.

ZF Services Australia’s local facilities feature factory trained technicians, specialist diagnostic and test equipment, backed up with ZF’s remanufacture warranty and genuine ZF Parts.
