Terrain Tamer LC300 filter insert seals better

Parts

Terrain Tamer have recently added an Air Filter Insert for the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series to their range, which was developed and originally released in 2021 for several Land Cruiser models, to combat the issue of dusting in V8 engines.

Vehicle specific and design protected, these Stainless steel filter inserts, or shims have been researched and designed so that when fitted, they create a surface area that perfectly matches the filter, aligning in the correct position to properly seal and effectively working to reduce the issue of dusting.

Since being released in 2022, the 300 Series, much like many other vehicles including Hilux KUN/GUN models, as well as the Land Cruiser Prado 120/150 series, VDJ76/78/79, and VDJ200 models, has been prone to dusting, which occurs when the original design of the airbox, or upper filter housing, features a seal surface which is too narrow to match the seal of the filter itself.

As a result, the filter is not able to be fully effective, as it does not properly seal, allowing dust to pass through the airbox and enter the engine intake, causing havoc with engine components.

The Terrain Tamer air filter insert is designed to correctly hold the airbox structure and properly seal out dirt dust, and other contaminants, ensuring only clean, filtered air enters the engine, effectively resulting in improved performance and sound quality, increased power, engine life and fuel efficiency and reduced wear and maintenance requirements.

The inserts are available now in kits, which also include the corresponding vehicle specific air filter, as well as sealant required for fitting.
