Terrain Tamer goes mustering

Parts

Eccentric 84-year-old Allan Gray has been Terrain Tamer 4WD Parts’ very own head engineer for 25 years, while at the same time he has become quite the personality and hero, known as ‘The Engine Whisperer’ by many in the 4WD community. After filming the first series of “Ask Allan”, the fans wanted more, and this is where Andrew, tongue-in-cheek witty new school mechanic comes in. Together they make the perfect comical duo, and have starred in various other Terrain Tamer series such as “The Project”, “The Apprentice”, and more.

And then there’s Jess, your quintessential Aussie outback gal, who’s always ready for an adventure. Better known as Jillaroo Jess, she’s a cross-country truck driver and Outback-loving cowgirl who is in need of a bullet-proof buggy for an upcoming mustering job.

After having worked with Al and Andrew in the previous series “Terrain Tamer Meets Jillaroo Jess”, Jess thought there’d be no one better to get involved in this mission. Eager to get her hands dirty with her new mechanical knowledge, and with the boys learning a thing or two from her this time round, they make “Terrain Tamer Goes Mustering”.

Together the team, who love any excuse to have the city in the rear-view mirror, take on the challenge and spend a fortnight in an old shed 60km north-west of Mt Isa, creating a ‘Jess-proof’ buggy. One that is sure to last the rugged terrain and get her from one side of the paddock to the other.

This isn’t just your everyday project though, when there is a list of tests to be done, improvements to be made and Allan alongside ready to use his trusty tips and tricks for any occasion, there is never a boring moment. Spoiler – Have you ever seen a make-shift suspension test resulting in someone losing their false teeth in a bucket of water?

Among all the chaos and cheeky one-liners, the trio find time to visit “The School of the Air”, a unique organisation found in remote regions across Australia, which provides education as far as 600km away for students who have no access to a local school.

With mustering season upon us, the gang are geared up and ready for the ultimate test – taking “Blue Steel” out on the pursuit. Helicopters flying and the bulls running, the series released early November.
