Schaeffler truck repair training

Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket Australia recently conducted a detailed training seminar in Melbourne for its major truck and heavy-duty repairer customers.
The evening covered the latest developments in the ever-changing world of truck / heavy-duty drivetrain components, common diagnosis and repair issues and presented by Schaeffler product specialist Julian Ilic.
Schaeffler says it was delighted with the attendance on the evening which included an appearance from the company’s V8 Supercar ambassador, Lee Holdsworth, who attended the session and took part in a closely contested Schaeffler truck racing simulator challenge with customer guests throughout the evening. Customers were vying for a pit tour at a local V8 Supercar event by setting the fastest lap time on the Schaeffler truck racing simulator program.
“As one of the world’s leading manufacturers of heavy vehicle drivetrain and bearing components through our world renowned brands LuK, INA and FAG, it is important to keep our truck repair customers updated on the latest product, fitment and diagnosis information as developments and technological advances march ahead,” says Schaeffler marketing specialist Allanah Poole.
“We were delighted to welcome managers and technicians from Karl Larsen Truck Mechanics, Big Rig Diesel Repairs, Eastern Heavy Workshop, Truckstar and Truckshield to this Melbourne training session and we look forward to collaborating with our truck / heavy duty repair customers more in the future.”
For Lee Holdsworth, the Schaeffler truck simulator took a bit of getting used to.
“I had never driven on a truck racing simulator and it required some really disciplined driving to set the fast lap times. Once a few of the customers got close to my best lap time, I jumped in to set some faster times and on it went.
“It was really good fun. The event was held right next door to Sandown Raceway, where I will be behind the wheel of my Irwin Racing Mercedes-Benz AMG E63 V8 Supercar in the first of our three Enduro Cup races, the Sandown 500 in September,” he says.
