Capital Instruments and Civic Wholesale merged into a single trading entity at the end of February 2013 to become Capital Civic – a specialist supplier of automotive and industrial electrical and electronics, with a branch located in Auckland and Christchurch.
Capital Civic is a New Zealand owned family business and managing director Brian Cosford says the company ethos is to supply the best quality products at competitive prices to the automotive and industrial sector.
“Our pricing policy has not changed, we still aim to match or better those prices offered by our competitors, because we buy our own commodities and therefore can offer a good range competitively, ” says Brian.
Capital Civic has a large range of self-sourced commodity items in stock such as: cable, fuses, heat shrink, split sleeving and everyday workshop commodities
Brian says the company is one of the biggest reseller of automotive gauges in New Zealand including brands such as VDO, Murphy, Wika, Isspro, Turotest,Wema and the Capital brand too.
Capital Civic also provides shutdown kits for forklifts, engine monitoring devices, safety and seat belt cut-out switches, beacons and emergency lighting, camera systems and power inverters. The company also resells known brands such as Hella, Bosch, Narva and Icon.
Amalgamating two companies into one has not been without its challenges but Brian says that Capital Civic has focussed on rebuilding its stock level in the Auckland and Christchurch branches, as well as clearing out obsolete items, developing a new and more user friendly website and providing friendly and helpful customer service. www.capitalcivic.co.nz
The combined member of staff has more than 150 years of cumulative experience, and where possible some of the staff from Civic Wholesale has been retained, so that familiarity with both products and customer needs has not been lost.
A member of the Capricorn Network, Capital Civic offers competitive prices and margins to trade customers as well as next day delivery throughout New Zealand.
