RDA Brakes – save time and effort

RDA Brakes – save time and effort

Parts

RDA has a range of brake pads, shoes, rotors and drums which will let you save significant time and effort, while also being  better for the environment than other braking products. They are available through NAPA and accredited resellers. You not  only save time sourcing parts, as RDA products come with a number of inclusions in the box, such as brake wear sensors  where required, and the oil free corrosion resistant coating means there is no need to pre clean the rotors & drums when  fitting.

They have recently added over 55 extra fitments to the range of rotors and pads to cover more of your workshop’s  replacement brake needs. See the attached chart for the recent arrivals covering over 112,000 vehicles on NZ roads.

RDA offers a three-tier range of pads to suit different vehicle uses and driving styles, plus one of the largest range of rotors  available locally, providing ~90 percent coverage of the New Zealand car parc. The rotors and drums have a 12 month,  20,000km warranty. The brake pads are now using a third-generation compound to ensure equivalence with OE technology  and composition and have an 18 month, 30,000km warranty, all RDA pads are copper-free.

The three brake pad tiers are:
GP MAX utilise the latest Low Metallic technology and composition for Everyday general driving – Responsive pedal from cold to 450°c.
Phantom utilise the latest Ceramic Fibre technology and composition for low dust & quiet operation – Responsive pedal  from cold to 550°c.
Extreme Heavy-Duty composition for towing, 4WD and light commercial applications – content -Responsive pedal from cold to 600°c.

RDA anti-rust coating – save time and money when installing
All RDA Disc Brake rotors and Brake drums are finished with a Generation 3 Matt black Anti-rust coating which increases  surface rust resistance on non- braking areas. Not only does this corrosion resistant coating provide exceptional protection  long after fitting, but it also saves time and money during fitment. This corrosion resistant coating means the rotor is not  coated in the typical thin oil that requires removal using an additional brake cleaning product. RDA rotors are ready to be  fitted straight out of the box.

Brake wear sensors included (Where OE) It’s becoming more common for modern vehicles to come equipped with brake  wear sensors, meaning there is one more thing to consider when doing a brake job. RDA takes the hassle out of changing  brake pads with brake wear sensors supplied in the box (where OE) so you have exactly what you need to complete the job  at no extra cost, saving you time and money.

Copper-free – why is it important?
Every time a driver presses the brake pedal, pad wear deposits copper particles onto the road. When it rains, this is washed  into nearby streams and rivers. With millions of drivers using their brakes day in, day out, it is estimated that brake pads  account for up to half of the copper entering water systems in urban areas. And with copper known to be very toxic to aquatic  life, this can cause significant damage to the environment. There are laws overseas to reduce copper content to ≤0.5  percent by 2025, at ≤0.5 percent copper these brakes are considered Copper-free. Whilst these laws are not effective  in New Zealand, workshops could do their bit by suggesting clients use low copper or copper-free brake pads, or even only  offer these.

All RDA brake pads have achieved this standard without compromising vehicle performance and safety, so that RDA  customers get not only a new generation of more environmentally friendly friction materials but a step up in braking  performance.

RDA are also pleased to announce they have now added front and rear pads to suit the new 250 series Land Cruiser Prado  to their range. Available in store now. RDA products are available from NAPA www.napa.co.nz 0800 800 073.
