RDA advice on upgrading brakes

Parts

The holiday season brings with it an increase in towing and consequential heavier use of braking with customers towing boats and caravans and carrying heavier loads in their cars and 4x4s.

RDA can provide Extreme brake pads paired with directional slotted and dimpled rotors designed specifically for towing, 4x4s, and heavy braking, which are ideal for these applications. They are also excellent for harsher uses such as light commercial vehicles and vehicles operating in more extreme terrain. Another application case is where the pads fitted need to be able to cope with consistent higher temperatures, where there could be increased wear if the wrong pads are fitted.

RDA Brakes Slotted & Dimpled Rotors are engineered to increase the dissipation of water, dust and road grime from the brake system contact area, which improves the integrity of the pad and rotor surface through deglazing. The directional slotting surface also combats “out-gassing” which can be caused by gas produced by the brake pad bonding agent forming a cushion between the pad and rotor causing brake fade and increasing brake bite and pedal feel. They feature:
• Boxed as a matched pair.
• GEN3 corrosion resistant coating.
• CNC machined for superior balance.
• Heat tempered for optimal durability.
• Symmetric vane casting for thermal efficiency and weight distribution.
• 12 months or 20,000km warranty.

RDA Brakes Extreme Brake Pads are available in over 1,200 applications and deliver consistent pedal feel from cold to 6000C:
• FSR shim (fibre, steel and rubber).
• Towing, 4x4, frequent or heavy braking.
• Long service life.
• Heavy metal and copper free
• E11 R90 approved for vehicles within ECE.
• Wear sensors in box (where OE).
• 18 months or 30,000km warranty.
