Meanwhile in the latest round Andy Knight has secured a dominating win in the NAPA Auto Parts Central Muscle Cars at Manfeild.

Starting the final race of the weekend from pole position Knight has made up for a slow start to the Championship with a polished lights to flag performance and his pace was above anything else on the track.

Perkins who was the other front row starter did his best to try and stay with Knight’s pocket rocket but to no avail, the southern man had created a massive gap over the eight laps and had already crossed the finish line while Perkins was still exiting Manfeild’s final bend.

It was also a successful weekend for newcomer Porter Racing NZ’s Andrew Porter who secured third place in his Mustang ahead of Dean Hansen Racing – who was immensely appreciative of his crew and helpers from other teams as they had repaired the HQ after the Race 3 damage to get him back on the track and able to fight. Aside from the dramas of Race 3, the Poll+n Gin Round was a welcoming return to action for the teams and drivers with eyes and goals already focused on Round 2 at Pukekohe early December.

Meanwhile in the USA Chase Elliott, NASCAR’s most popular driver, and driver of the NAPA Auto Parts No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE, is now a cup champion, at 24 years of age he is the third youngest champion.
