Apprenticeship boost
As you may be aware, the Government has made changes to the Apprenticeship Boost scheme, which currently supports the employers of any first or second-year apprentices with monthly payments from the Ministry of Social Development. From 1 January 2025, Apprenticeship Boost will be paid only in the first year of the apprenticeship and only for employers in targeted occupations.

The Government has now announced the targeted occupations that are eligible for Apprenticeship Boost from 1 January 2025 and all of MITO’s apprenticeship programmes are included: Automotive Engineering and Technology (which includes both automotive and collision repair), and Process and Resources Engineering (which includes extractives and drilling).

This means that all MITO apprenticeship programmes will continue to be supported by Apprenticeship Boost.
