Keeping up to date

Keeping up to date

Ed Speak

We have extensive coverage in this issue from the recent Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo.

Events like this are a great opportunity to keep up to date with some of the new technology in automotive aftermarket parts, repair techniques and servicing equipment. It is also a good opportunity to compare a number of brands side by side and talk with the relevant technical experts.

In addition, there was a wide range of training opportunities in both business and technical areas with a few of the topics covered being:
• Global Automotive Aftermarket trends – get the edge (covered in this issue).
• Skills Shortages – Five top tactics to find and keep good talent for your business.
• Prepare your workshop for electrification.
• AdBlue and Diesel after-treatment diagnostics.
• Circuit analysis.
• Parasitic draws.

In addition, there were some intro sessions on topics such as the Expo Electrified session we attended that looked at some of the basic diagnostic steps for EV motors and an overview of some of the test equipment you can use.

A lot of people also use Expos to connect and reconnect with colleagues and there was a strong sprinkling of Kiwis both on stands and in the attendees.

The expo is held every two years in Melbourne so you could start thinking about attending the 2026 event now!
