We all know that the factory filled coolant in modern vehicles are extended life products and don’t require changing as regularly as they were a decade or two ago. Coolant is still an extremely important fluid used in vehicles to keep the internal combustion engine or battery management system under control but can easily be forgotten or overlooked when servicing is required. Inhibitors in coolants slowly dissipate over time and if not changed can lead to corrosion starting in the system and progressing through the engine and other cooling system components until a failure occurs. Recently, Penrite upgraded and introduced their new range of coolants – Green 500,000 Kilometre Coolant and Red 500,000 Kilometre Coolant. These are now available in New Zealand.
Green 500,000 Kilometre Coolant
Is a Type A Anti-Freeze Anti-Boil Coolant with a stable long life Hybrid (HOAT – Hybrid Organic Acid Technology) inhibitor. It’s silicate, Phosphate and Amine free and protects cast iron, aluminium, copper and solder alloys as well as the hoses, seals and plastics. It is effective in all cast iron and aluminium engines that are under load or used in extreme hot and cold climates. Its available in both concentrate and premix forms in a size to suit most workshops and service centres.
Red 500,000 Kilometre Coolant
Is a Type A Anti-Freeze Anti-Boil silicate, phosphate and amine free coolant, safe for all types of light and heavy-duty vehicles. It uses a technically advanced OAT (Organic Acid Technology) inhibitor formulation which provides a stable long-life coolant that prevents rust, corrosion, cavitation and degradation of the cooling system. It provides long-term protection against rust and corrosion for all materials used in the engine and the cooling system. It protects cast iron, aluminium, copper and solder alloys as well as the hoses, seals and plastics. It is effective in all cast iron and aluminium engines that are under load or used in extreme hot and cold climates. Its available in both concentrate and premix forms in a size to suit most workshops and service centres.
Both Penrite Green 500,000 kilometre and Red 500,000 Kilometre Coolant premixes are formulated at a 33 percent concentrate with Penrite De-mineralised water and will provide protection for 500,000 Kilometres on highway or 5,000 hours off-highway if maintained at this concentration level.
