SAS Autoparts have become a New Zealand distributor for the FRAM filter range encompassing Air, Oil, Fuel and Cabin Air filters.

FRAM was started in 1934 when the original chemists, Frederick Franklin and T. Edward Aldham, invented an easily replaceable oil filtering element in their Providence, Rhode Island, laboratory. The name FRAM is coined from the first two letters of FRanklin and the last two letters of AldhAM.

FRAM is one of the largest global suppliers of automotive filters, providing filters across the range for passenger vehicles, trucks, tractors and heavy equipment.

Codie Banks, NZ Business Manager of SAS, says, “SAS are really pleased to be a New Zealand  Distributor for such a well-established and respected brand as FRAM.”

FRAM is a premium global brand sold in over 174 countries and is the Number one seller in the USA. Fram filters are manufactured to meet or exceed OE specifications and service intervals with a 95 percent coverage of vehicles in New Zealand.

They have a range of filters from their regular Fram and Extra Guard to the top of the line ‘Tough Guard’ models, plus a special racing oil filter range.

The Tough Guard range of filters have the following features:
• Tough Guard Oil Filters use a textured surface Sure Grip for easier installation – they are designed for conventional and synthetic oil and engineered for extreme driving conditions, stop and go traffic and towing.

Tough Guard utilises a premium synthetic blend of media to obtain 99 percent dirt-trapping efficiency at 20 microns, allowing for peak engine performance between longer oil change intervals.

Fram Air Filters use a superior media and filter construction to provide expanded durability and containment of  more dirt particles and road dust.

Fram Cabin Air Filters features advanced filter media that cleans the air flowing through the vehicle’s HVAC system. Trapping 98 percent of road dust and pollen particles utilising carbon impregnated media and with a limited range also using baking soda to remove odours, Fram cabin filters protect passengers from contaminants and allergens.

FRAM available now from SAS branches, 19 nationwide.
