Expanding business opportunities have led New Zealand’s leading automotive workshop equipment specialist supplier, Stocks Equipment, to establish its own headquarters in Auckland.
The move into a new stand-alone building has also enabled the growing equipment division to consolidate all its activities under one roof.
Stocks Equipment has shifted “just around the corner” from its parent, George Stock & Company Ltd, into an office and warehouse complex at 118 Carbine Road, Mt Wellington, still strategically placed within Auckland’s industrial and commercial heartland.
“After 30 years at the same location it was time for Stocks Equipment to fly the nest and look to a bigger and brighter future where we will have all our equipment parts, stock and people in one place, rather than in numerous buildings,” says Tony Simpson, commercial director with Stocks.
“The move will enable us to become even more efficient and lift our customer support and service to another level.”
In addition to bringing all the equipment parts and stock together, the new premises will also house a showroom that will feature the top selling brands represented in New Zealand by Stocks Equipment, including Hunter, RAV, Revolution, AutopStenhoj and Rotary.
It will also feature a dedicated training facility where customers can send their own technicians to be trained in the correct use of workshop equipment. Additionally, a service centre will be established to service, repair and update used equipment.
“There’s been a big buzz in the air regarding this move,” says Tony.
“The automotive industry has been going through some boom times in recent years and we have been working hard to keep up with the demand for premium quality, precision equipment that fulfils their workshop needs. This move will provide a springboard for us to achieve those goals.
“As a business that is focused entirely on workshop service equipment, without the distraction of other products, Stocks Equipment is uniquely positioned to provide the tools that help our customers do their job more effectively and more profitably.
“We believe the industry will continue to be very buoyant in the years ahead and we see a number of exciting opportunities for ourselves and our customers, thanks to our world-beating brands and products.”
He says Hunter wheel aligners, tyre changers and wheel balancers are the most sought-after on the market and New Zealand outperforms many other countries around the world, such is the reputation of the US manufacturer.
“There are more than 500 Hunter wheel aligners in workshops throughout the country – it’s the brand everyone wants and since the digital models, like the Elite, were introduced it has gone from strength-to-strength, especially with the introduction of the amazing tyre changer and wheel balancer lines,” he says.
