BNT and Dayco – building the best partnership

Servicing

For more than 118 years Dayco has been renowned for automotive engine belt and component manufacturing excellence worldwide.

Automotive repairers and BNT’s across New Zealand can offer technicians outstanding quality replacement with Dayco Timing Belt Kits to suit a wide range of popular Australasian, Asian and European vehicle makes and models.

The vast range of direct-fit Dayco Timing Belt Kits from BNT bring the benefits of the company’s world class design and engineering expertise in tooth belt power transmission systems along with Dayco’s in-depth knowledge of engine functional requirements.

Dayco Poly-V engine belts are produced for accessory transmissions of cars, commercial vehicles, heavy duty vehicles and buses.

The increase in the number of accessories (air conditioning, power steering pumps, alternators, water pumps, vacuum pumps, etc) and the operating conditions with engine temperatures up to 130°C have made it essential to upgrade both the materials used along with the construction technology.

Dayco Poly-V belts are all made of EPDM (Ethylene-Propylene-Diene-Monomers) material in compliance with the latest standards required by the automotive industry, guaranteeing resistance, reliability, low noise and long service life.

Why are the Dayco Poly V-Belts so highly regarded?

They are highly flexible and ideal for use on small diameter pulleys, while the back of the belts also allows for power transmission – particularly with the double Poly-V (DPK) variant – and their resistance to high operating temperatures, which ensures a longer service life.

Dayco Tensioners are designed to maintain constant tension on serpentine belt drives.

Serpentine belt drives consist of a single belt that powers most, if not all, of the engine’s accessories.

To maintain the proper tension throughout the drive, an automatic, spring-loaded tensioner is incorporated into the drive system geometry.

Dayco’s Automatic Belt Tensioner features a patented “flat spring” design, engineered to provide less operating range variations in tension.

This reduces the risk of premature accessory bearing failure due to high tension when a new belt is installed. It also lessens the risk of belt squeal and slippage, or poor accessory performance caused by low tension after the belt begins to stretch and wear.

BNT’s category manager, Adrian Hodgson comments that: “Dayco, in response to global automotive demand, has developed the latest generation of Poly V belts for the aftermarket, capable of handling high workloads, while maintaining constant high performance.

“Dayco Timing Belt Kits enable repairers to replace the timing belt in conjunction with the tensioner, idler pulley and oil seals, restoring the optimum operating conditions for the timing drive system.

“Worn or wearing tensioners, pulleys and idlers can cause a new timing belt to fail in a very short time,” Adrian adds, “so the kits, bringing all the components together, is not only a time saver, but it makes sense to ensure the longevity of all those components and their collective reliability.”

And on the subject of reliability, Dayco’s water pump kits have been a reliable industry mainstay for years. Now that same Dayco quality is available in stand-alone replacement Dayco Water Pumps.

And considering there are over 350 passenger and commercial water pump part numbers available through Dayco, the vast majority of vehicles on New Zealand and Australian roads are covered.

Dayco Water Pumps deliver exceptionally reliable performance – in keeping with current automotive industry considerations – feature upgraded materials for the bearing, impeller and gasket.

What’s more, every aspect of construction from raw materials through to the finished product is validated by Dayco for quality assurance and all Dayco Water Pumps are designed to meet or exceed OEM specifications.

This includes the range of Dayco Heavy Duty Water Pumps, which deliver exceptional reliability across a vast range of older or the most recent heavy duty makes and models.

The same quality assurance measures that Dayco applies to its passenger car water pump range also applies to the global company’s Heavy Duty Water Pump range, with all applications designed to meet or exceed OEM specifications.

Dayco Heavy Duty Water Pumps are warranted for 18 months / 150,000 km or 5,400 hours of operation – whichever occurs first.

The total Dayco Water Pump aftermarket replacement coverage across both heavy duty and passenger / commercial vehicles to 3,600 makes and models.

With Dayco being a major supplier of water pumps to heavy duty vehicle manufacturers worldwide, you know you are fitting OE quality when you select Dayco.

Dayco also offers a vast range of premium quality aftermarket coolant expansion and overflow tanks to suit a wide range of Australasian makes and models.

As modern engines generate enormous heat, to ensure efficient thermal management, all modern cooling systems are heavily pressurised.

As the engine coolant heats up, it expands and creates significant pressure within the radiator.

The primary function of the coolant expansion tank or as widely referred to as the radiator overflow tank, is to retain lost coolant due to this expansion and to return the coolant to the radiator when it cools down and shrinks.

Dayco coolant tanks provide a high point in the engine coolant system, which also allows a cushion of air to be present to ensure that pressure within the cooling system does not become too great, while also ensuring that engine coolant is not lost due to expansion.

The Dayco range of radiator coolant tanks include pressure rated caps and hoses where required, to ensure maximum engine efficiency and reliability.
